The 2018 vintage presents a deep, intense ruby color with garnet hues. The nose is complex and expressive, offering a bouquet of ripe blackcurrant, dark cherry, and subtle notes of cedar, tobacco, and vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied and powerful, with velvety tannins and a well-balanced acidity that leads to a long, elegant finish with lingering notes of spice and oak.
Origin & Terroir
Crafted by the legendary Bernard Magrez, this wine is sourced from select vineyards in the prestigious Bordeaux region. The grapes are grown in gravelly soils with excellent drainage, which is ideal for producing concentrated, high-quality fruit. The region’s maritime climate, with warm summers and mild winters, allows the grapes to achieve optimal ripeness while retaining their natural acidity.
Food Pairing
This wine is a perfect companion to fine dining, pairing beautifully with dishes such as beef Wellington, roasted lamb, or duck confit. It also complements aged cheeses like Comté or Gruyère. For the best experience, decant for 1-2 hours and serve at 18°C (64°F) in a large Bordeaux glass.
